Setting

Valeriana is a land plagued by living dead canines called Kalmas. Their bite turns a canine into one of them.
These creatures only die from beheading or the destruction of the brains.
It isn’t known if this has been caused by a disease or if it’s some sort of supernatural zombification.
The canines of the island have made destroying the Kalmas their goal.
As their assistance they have the small amount of humans that live on the island and are afraid of their pet dogs turning into zombies and thus destroying Kalmas.
To top it off, the four canine packs have to deal with their own problems and politics.

Backstory

Ekaitz was born along with his his three siblings, his brother Chimo, and his two sisters Angel and Sun.
They lived close to the two-legged creatures (humans) village, and the pups often went on adventures there during the night.
When the four pups were around 1 year old, Ekaitz noticed a sword resting against the wall of a house. He was intrested in the object and took it with him.
His brother had found himself a dagger. Their sisters however, didn’t want to steal anything because it could anger the humans.
Chimo kept the dagger as his treasure, while Ekaitz started practicing the use of the sword as a weapon.

Another year rolled by and the siblings went to hunt more and more often. Sometimes they hunted together, sometimes alone.
During the same time the first Kalmas started appearing into the surrounding area. The siblings met the first one when they were hunting together. They managed to escape, though.
A few weeks later when Ekaitz returned from hunting, he witnessed a horrifying sight as he got home.
Three Kalmas had attacked when he was away. His parents and siblings were killed.
Even though he had his sword with him, he didn’t have the courage to attack. Instead he escaped before the living dead noticed him.
The next few weeks he was very depressed and thought what would happen if he was attacked by a similar group.
About two months later, after wandering aimlessly, he heard about a pack called Lumon.
He decided to leave the past behind him and join the pack.
After that his personality has changed a lot from what it was when he lived happily with his family.
Nowadays everything that matters to him is his and the pack's survival because he thinks that only canines that are as big as wolves are capable of taking the living dead out.
