This is a smaller title.

Setting:
Valeriana is a land plagued by living dead canines called Kalmas. Their bite turns a canine into one of them.
These creatures only die from beheading or the destruction of the brains.
It isn’t known if this has been caused by a disease or if it’s some sort of supernatural zombification.
The canines of the island have made destroying the Kalmas their goal.
As their assistance they have the small amount of humans that live on the island and are afraid of their pet dogs turning into zombies and thus destroying Kalmas.
To top it off, the four canine packs have to deal with their own problems and politics.

Past:
Peregrine was born in a land quite a bit away from Valeriana. There was a constant war in the land between two packs.
His parents abandoned him when he was still a defensless puppy because they thought he looked too weak.
The other pack took him in and raised him to be a good soldier. He was never told that he’s adopted.
He began slowly climbing upwards in the pack's hierarchy with the help of his skills. The descendant of the current Alpha didn’t like it and was afraid that Peregrine would take his place as the next Alpha instead of him, so he came up with a plan to get rid of Peregrine.

One time when Peregrine was completing a mission with a small group, the son of the Alpha showed up and killed everyone in the group except for Peregrine.
The last thing he heard before going unconscious was the son of the Alpha telling him that he really wasn’t a part of the pack.
After some time he regained consciousness and returned to the pack’s ’homebase’. The son of the Alpha had had enough time to stage him as the killer of his group. Peregrine was exiled from the pack and got the scar on his face from the same event.
He tried to join the other pack, but they didn’t accept him.

After wandering for some time he found his way to a human-populated area. In the end he ended up sailing as a rabbit to the unknown land Valeriana on a ship.
He wandered aimlessly around the island until he decided to settle in the north.
There he heard about the packs and the living dead, Kalmas, from another wolf. He also heard that almost all the leaders of the packs on the island had mysteriously disappeared some time ago.
After thinking about things during a few weeks, he decided to take the place of the Alpha in the Lumon pack. Since he had experienced a lot of war and misery, he thought that if the pack had to survive too long without a leader, it would lead to disorder within the pack, and eventually chaos.
The other packs could possibly be very eager to snatch some land from the north, among other dangers. Nowadays he wishes that there would be peace between the packs and that the Kalma-problem would be solved.
