He still has his old clothes in store somewhere.

Due to consuming the apples, he's now virtually immortal, and something akin to a god.

Some people in his AU fear him, some worship him as a god, based on the rumours they've heard.

Has no interest in the villagers' shenanigans or travelling the multiverse.

Very protective and a tad possessive of Nightmare.

Would NEVER hurt Nightmare on purpose.

Will give Nightmare anything he asks for, assuming it's in his power to do so.

Just wants to keep his brother safe and happy.

Very suspicious and untrusting towards strangers, taking years to just consider someone a friend.

If he does get attached to someone, he will protect them as fiercely as he protects Night.

Is still afraid of thunder, but tries to act brave.

Nightmare usually wraps him up in the cape and comforts him during thunderstorms.

His voice has a slightly metallic 'echo' to it.

Affects the environment directly around him when experiencing very strong emotions.

Negative: Sky turns red, nearby plant life begins to shrivel and wilt, same effect on animals as an upcoming natural disaster, his left eye 'eclipses' as well.
Positive: Sky turns a yellow-ish-green, plants flourish, even shriveled ones coming back to life, both eyes turn yellow and glow brightly.

Weapons:

Whips: The 'ropes' hanging from his hips can be transformed into thorny whips
-Can infuse the whips with extra magic for additional effects if an opponent is hit by them
Negative: Extra pain and wounds take longer to heal
Positive: Lessens opponents' will to fight

Warbow: A huge bow composed completely out of his magic
-Can shoot regular arrows, but only really uses magic arrows (both positive and negative, or a mix)
-Can make the arrowheads solid and have them shatter on impact

Backstory:

Things started like in the original Dreamtale, Dream and Nightmare guarding the Tree of Feelings, Dream being the popular one among the villagers while Nightmare was bullied and abused by them, Dream being unaware of this fact at first (Nightmare didn't tell him about it as he was afraid that if Dream confronted them about it, that they would start bullying him too).
One time he happened to come back from his errands earlier than normal, stumbling upon the sight of the villagers bullying Nightmare.
He was rightfully pissed off.
Once the villagers had retreated and he was patching up his brother, Dream asked him why he hadn't told him about this before.
After that incident he didn't leave Nightmare alone by the tree.
After a week or two of consideration Dream came to the conclusion to eat the apples they were protecting in order to become stronger.
He felt guilty his brother had gone through all of this, especially since he kept things hidden to keep him safe.
Thus, he decided it was his turn to protect Nightmare.
He ate the apples while Night was still sleeping, to keep him from trying to stop him.
Nightmare woke up from the sounds of Dream's painful transformation.
Dream gave Nightmare his cape soon after.
He considered he didn't need it anymore since he was the one that was going to protect from now on.
The combined effects of both the negative and positive apples caused Dream to become quite unstable (mostly mentally) for a couple weeks afterward, until he learned to control himself better.
Quite a few of the villagers "mysteriously disappeared" during the few nights after the incident.
It took Nightmare quite a while before he stopped being unnerved by Dream's new... everything.

The current time of the AU is a couple of decades after the apple incident.
At some point Dream had a mansion built around the tree, where the two brothers now live.
Dream's powerful magic is (somehow) causing clouds to gather in a circle around the mansion (look, I just want things to look cool, alright).
Most of the original villagers are either dead or have moved away, in fear of the new Dream.
The only villager Dream trusts anymore is Neil, who he considers a great friend.
Neil is still pretty unnerved by him.

The brothers have become very codependent on each other.
Dream gave Nightmare a ring made from his magic, allowing him to find Nightmare anywhere, even if he was in a different AU.
Nightmare can call for Dream by tapping on the ring.
